Intel releases the first Core Duo processor with Radeon RX Vega M graphics

Today (January 8th), Intel announced the launch of the first eighth-generation Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M graphics. This processor has a wealth of features and excellent performance, can effectively meet the needs of gamers, content creators, and virtual mixed reality enthusiasts. At the same time, optimization for 2-in-1 devices, thin and light notebooks, and mini PCs will further expand Intel’s product camp.

At present, many manufacturers in the industry have announced that they will launch devices equipped with the processor. Among them, Dell and Hewlett-Packard have introduced new thin and light 2-in-1 devices, and Intel has also released Intel's most powerful NUC. The new eighth generation of Intel Core processors will provide two configurations:

The eighth generation of Intel Core processors (100W overall power consumption) equipped with Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics cards are in an unlocked configuration.

Superior products help continuous innovation

At the beginning of November 2017, Intel introduced the initial details of the new members of the eighth generation Intel Core processor family. The processor uses Intel's embedded multi-chip interconnect bridging (EMIB) technology to package Intel's quad-core CPU, Radeon RX Vega M graphics, and 4GB dedicated HBM2. EMIB is a high-speed intelligent information bridge between GPU and HBM2, which reduces the area occupied by conventional chips on the main board by nearly half compared to the individual components that are implemented separately.

Thanks to this space savings, OEMs now have the flexibility and freedom to create innovative lightweight devices. For example, many older systems older than three years weighed about 7 pounds and lasted only 4 hours while the thickness exceeded 32 millimeters. With this new processor, fever-grade devices can be reduced to 17mm in thickness and can run for up to 8 hours on a single charge, while delivering superior performance. This superior design, combined with the new real-time power sharing framework and software drivers, demonstrates the infinite possibilities that companies can achieve by making full use of hardware and software innovations.

Powerful processor for gamers, content creators and other enthusiasts

The new 8th generation Intel Core processors with Radeon RX Vega M graphics provide gamers and VR enthusiasts with a superb experience. Compared to similar systems three years ago, the processor will be able to support up to three times the frame rate improvement on lighter, thinner, and smaller devices, and at the same time, even compared to current discrete graphics cards. It can also increase the frame rate up to 40%. Now, gamers can run the latest games such as "Euphorbia Plague 2" at high resolution on the way out or in the bedroom, enjoying smooth movements and lively colors to get a truly immersive gaming experience.

Content creators can also use the new processor to do more work, including creating 3D images from scratch, seamlessly editing videos at home or on the go, or running the hottest creative applications. Compared to old computers with discrete graphics cards three years ago, users can now use Adobe Premier Pro to create content that is 42% faster. In addition, this processor will also be able to bring a large number of 2-in-1 devices to content creators, providing them with greater flexibility while giving them superior performance.

With superior performance and powerful graphics capabilities, this processor can run everything from a Windows hybrid reality helmet to all Oculus VR devices. Consumers will be able to choose the technology that best suits their needs on a thin, stylish and compact computer, including watching live sports and movies, exploring places of interest or playing VR games.
