Switchers and splitters are often used in surveillance and broadcast system engineering. The main purpose is to switch and distribute audio and video and its VGA (RGBHV) signals. In addition, DVI, HDMI, etc. are now available. When purchasing equipment, we can quickly and easily select the applicable products by confirming the following usage requirements. Let's do a simple analysis below.

First, confirm whether to assign or switch signals

1. Generally speaking, the application of converting one input signal into multiple output signals is to distribute the signal, and the distributor is required.

2. Multiple input signals select one output or multiple outputs, and switchers or matrix switchers should be selected.

Second, confirm what format the signal to switch

1. If it is a video signal (Video), select the video switcher;

2. If it is an AV signal (AV), select the AV switcher;

3. If it is a computer signal (VGA), select the VGA switcher;

And so on.

Third, confirm the number of input signals and output signals Fourth, determine the interface form of the device

1. Audio matrix switcher:

If the signal to be switched and assigned is a mono/dual (D) unbalanced interface, select the RCA interface (Note: The RCA interface is the default interface for audio, so it cannot be visually recognized from the name)

2, video matrix switcher:

Most video switchers currently use the BNC interface.

3, DVI, VGA, HDMI switcher:

If the signal interface that needs to be switched and assigned is 16 HDMI, then 16 HDMI interfaces are selected. If the signal interface that needs to be switched and assigned is 5 BNCs, select a product with 5 BNC interfaces. If the signal interface that needs to be switched and assigned is HDMI, then the product with the HDMI interface is selected.
