[High-tech LED News] Recently, Bayer MaterialScience AG of Austria and Carlco Optics have cooperated to develop a special grade transparent polycarbonate mold-cloning material for LED lenses.
According to Bayer, the material is excellent in light transmission. The polycarbonate cloning lens ensures efficient and concentrated transmission of light, which increases the cost and energy saving advantages of LED lamps and is an ideal alternative to other lighting technologies.
Bayer said that the LED technology can also adjust the color of light according to the needs, so that LED lighting significantly improves the contrast and color rendering effect, so as to achieve better visual effects in the dark environment.
Bayer said that the LED lighting made of this material has been applied to the exterior wall and channel lighting of Bayer Vienna, replacing the previously used metal halide lamps.
Currently, Bayer is experimenting with the new Makrolon LED 2643 material and using it to produce the lens used in the project. Developed specifically for solid-state lighting fixtures, this material is extremely light-transmissive and provides excellent resistance to light from LED lights.
