The AD9631 is more than just SDR. This single-chip software configurable transceiver uses two independent receive signal paths and two independent transmit signal paths. These paths can operate simultaneously, so the performance of the AD9631 exceeds the communication specifications such as 4G LTE.
Since only one AD9631 is required, the large number of discrete electronic components and connectors required by previous designs are significantly reduced, and the footprint is also reduced.
Two independent local oscillators are used, one for each generator and one receiver, allowing the AD9631 to operate in either Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) mode or Time Division Duplex (TDD) mode.
