Circuit function
A well-stabilized reference voltage has a wide range of applications and involves all analog circuits. This circuit uses a reference voltage. Of course, ordinary Zener diodes can also be used instead of dedicated ICs. It can be said that this is a versatile reference voltage generator.
Circuit working principle
The OP amplifier uses a single power supply because if a ±15V power supply is used, it sometimes cannot swing in the forward direction when the power is turned on.
The IC that generates the reference voltage is biased by the output of the OP amplifier, so that the power supply voltage can be kept constant even when it changes. A normal Zener diode with high dynamic resistance is also effective.
In order to obtain an output voltage of +10V, the OP amplifier must have 4 times the voltage gain, and the output voltage V is:
If R2 = 7.5K, the resistance on the ground side should be 2.5K, where the variable resistor VR1 is serially tuned.
R3 is the biasing resistor. If the current required by the reference diode is IZ=1MV:
This circuit uses a single power supply. If a lower reference voltage is used, it sometimes exceeds the in-phase voltage range of the OP amplifier, making the operation unstable. In this case, the LM324 chip is the best choice.
