US report says Android phone market share will reach 10% next year
According to foreign media reports, the US market research company Forrester Research published an analysis report "2010 Forecast: Enterprise Mobile Services Accelerate Again". It is expected that Android mobile phones will grow significantly in the smartphone market, and 4G service providers will begin to launch related service applications in 2010. .
The following is a summary of the report:
1. The top mobile operators will start to invest heavily in 4G networks and launch high-value services such as enterprises and vertical applications to meet the needs of users who want faster download speeds and reduced waiting times.
Second, most top mobile operators will launch machine-to-machine applications and services. As IP-based wired and wireless networks expand to the entire market, related services in the enterprise market will grow significantly. The so-called green IT and smart grid are an example of this, the latter can effectively manage and reduce power demand. Consumer machine-to-machine applications will be able to remotely monitor homes, appliances, and automobiles; enterprise machine-to-machine applications will be widely used in vertical markets such as medical, energy, and transportation.
3. In 2010, Android phones will occupy 10% of the smartphone market. Forrester expects that Android phones will be strongly supported by important companies such as Qualcomm, Verizon, Motorola and Google, and will increasingly be supported by developers through open source platforms.
4. Forrester predicts that in 2010, 15% of non-mobile employees will press corporate IT departments to support their mobile work capabilities of personal phones, which is higher than the current 10%. Smartphone-grade devices are becoming more reliable, affordable, and widely used, and their users want to send emails and work schedules more conveniently. Will IT staff follow the trend or withstand the pressure?
5. In addition to consumers, mobile phone application stores will become an important software distribution channel for SMEs. If allowed, smartphone users can search, purchase, download, and use various enterprise management tools such as expense management, employee approval, and other productivity-enhancing software through the app store.
6. To manage the growth of mobile users, devices, and data more cost-effectively, IT staff will turn to emerging cloud-based mobile services. IT personnel may not consider creating internal device management, deployment, end-user support, and security management, but seek to find new third-party management services for these functions. A related trend is that cloud services can go deeper into the enterprise, communicate the required information through smartphones, and coordinate user identities and information between various devices and applications.
7. Forrester expects that enterprise mobile providers, especially application providers, will continue to integrate in the industry or be squeezed out of the market. Service providers and system integration providers will continue to invest in mobile solutions for vertical markets.
