Tesla's electric SUV ModelX is one of the company's main models this year. In addition to some design highlights, ModelX's performance is the focus of many people's concerns. Recently, the car media DragTImes conducted a test: put the ModelXP90D and ModelSP90D together to see how they perform on the straight runway. As a result, the ModelSP90D won with a slight advantage.
The powertrains of the two cars were identical, and the Ludicrous Mode was used in the tests. In a one-mile-mile straight runway, the ModelX took 11.61 seconds and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph for 3.1 seconds, 0.1 seconds below the official data. Considering that linear acceleration is affected by many factors including the weight of the driver, this result is reasonable.
In multiple rounds of comparison, ModelX's score is around 11.6 seconds, while ModelS's score is maintained between 11.3 and 11.5 seconds. Considering the heavier ModelX and the better aerodynamic performance of the ModelS, DragTImes believes that the performance of the two cars is no different, and that the ModelX's power output may be stronger.
However, DragTImes also pointed out that the test found that ModelX consumes significantly more power than ModelS. The data reading table shows that the ModelX after testing uses 28.3kw/h of power, and the ModelS consumes 22.7kw/h.
