Qualcomm has just revealed all the details of its Snapdragon 400 and 200 processors. The Snapdragon 400 is targeted at the mid-range entry-level market, while the Snapdragon 200 processor is completely targeted at the entry-level smartphone market. Qualcomm hopes that its own products will appear in more and more smart machine markets, sweeping as many mobile devices as possible. Although these processors are aimed at the low-end market, they should still provide very good mobile processing performance.
The Snapdragon 400 has two options and is equipped with an Adreno 305 GPU for fast and smooth 3D gaming and web browsing performance, with power consumption: the first is a 1.7GHz dual-core Krait CPU that delivers both performance and battery life. Efficiency of aSMP (asynchronous symmetric multiprocessing); the second is a 1.4GHz quad-core A7 processor for entry-level devices.
The Snapdragon400 supports up to 13.5 megapixel camera, advanced audio, 1080p video recording and playback, and the Miracast feature that streams mobile content to HDTV. It will be paired with LPDDR2 or LPDDR3 memory for excellent performance and battery optimization for Snapdragon. Support for 42Mbps HSPA+, W+G CDMA, dual SIM, and even TD-SCDMA.
The Snapdragon 200 processor is targeted at the entry-level smartphone market with only one option: 1.4GHz quad-core Cortex A5, Hexagon QDOP5, Adreno 203 GPU, LPDDR2 memory support, HD video playback, dual SIM capability, up to 8 million Pixel camera.
Both products will bring a new era to the entry-level smartphone market, and consumers will be able to purchase smart phones with friendly prices and performance. The product is expected to be released sometime in mid-2013.
