Novaled develops luminous efficacy 60lm/W OLED lighting products using phosphorescent materials

[High-tech LED News] Germany's Novaled has developed a white OLED illumination with a luminous efficiency of up to 60 lm/W, an initial brightness of 1000 cd/m2, and a brightness halving life (LT50) of up to 100,000 hours and a color rendering index value of 87. product.

According to Novaled, the red and green luminescent materials developed this time use phosphorescent materials with higher luminous efficiency. The blue luminescent material uses a common fluorescent material used in commercially available fluorescent lamps. Novaled said that while this is a choice made considering the stable supply of materials and low cost, the stability of the material has contributed greatly to extending life.

Novaled pointed out that the CIE chromaticity coordinate of the luminescent color of the product is (0.470, 0.429), slightly closer to orange. In addition, the product area is only 4cm2. However, Novaled stressed that it has begun to work to expand the size of the product, and plans to make a 30cm square panel.

In addition, Novaled also considers the use of phosphorescent materials in blue, and it is expected to achieve OLED lighting panels with luminous efficiencies exceeding 100 lm/W.
