Intel 32nm Xeon full exposure

After the Sandy Bridge architecture occupied the desktop and notebook, Intel's server sector is about to welcome an update. The architecture is not the latest, but it has made great progress in manufacturing processes, core quantity, and cache capacity.

According to reports, Intel's new server workstation processor will be named Xeon E7 series, including two sub-series: Xeon E7-2800 for two-way server, Xeon E7-4800 for four-way server.

The Xeon E-Series is still based on the Westmere architecture kernel, which is identical to the Clarkdale Core i5/i3 series just replaced on the desktop, but is much more powerful. The Xeon E7-2800 series has one six-core, two eight-core, and three 10-core cores. The frequency starts at 1.73GHz, and the three-level cache ranges from 18-30MB. The thermal design consumes 105W or 130W.

The Xeon E7-4800 series core distribution and three-level cache capacity are the same as above, and the kick-off frequency increases to 1.83 GHz, but the minimum thermal design power consumption is only 95W.

In addition there is at least one low-power ten-core Xeon E7-8867L, thermal design power consumption is only 105W, the frequency is still 2.13GHz, three cache also retains all 30MB, QPI bus frequency is full speed 6.4GT / s.
