In circuit design, we need to consider many issues. While meeting product performance, we will also pay more attention to the compatibility of products. In many cases, we need to limit the input current to protect the power supply or battery to avoid abnormal situations.
Usually we can design the circuit in the following ways
1: Use the op amp or microcontroller to detect the input current. Use MOS to make the switch off. In case of overcurrent, the system will immediately cut off the power and require more peripheral circuits. Current limit accuracy is not easy to make high. The overall cost is high.
2 : Use BOOST chip with current detection, this kind of chip generally judges the current through the internal resistance of internal MOS tube to judge the error that current has the error of current limit accuracy too large.
So how do we design the circuit when we need higher current limit accuracy and limited area?
Using the SY7210 as shown in the figure can be used to easily accomplish this type of design. The resistance of the circuit test is used to detect the current limiting current with high accuracy. When the current exceeds the limit value, the output voltage begins to drop, avoiding sudden power failure and other abnormalities.
SY7210 uses an asynchronous architecture as long as the input has a voltage even if the chip is a working output there will be voltage
