However, there is more data, and preservation is a big problem. There are several hard disks, large and small, how to store them in the safest way?

Some people say that NAS must be used, but the problem is that it costs extra money. After thinking about it, think about the storage space of Win10, um, that's it! This feature can't be wasted, thousands of NAS budgets can be saved!

Note that to form storage space, there must be no data in the hard disk (all will be formatted). After connecting the hard disk, open the control panel of the computer (enter the control panel in the start menu), and find the storage space.

Click to enter the creation of a storage pool, and notice how many hard disks there are in a list at this time. Tick ​​the hard disks to be used to form the storage pool, and click "Create Pool".

At this time, you can choose different storage methods according to the number of hard disks (at least two available hard disks). For the file system part, the editor recommends using REFS, of course, you can also choose NTFS, there is no mandatory requirement. The most important thing is the "recovery type". In general, the most basic way to ensure data security is "two-way mirroring." Finally, set the capacity. After confirming that it is correct, click "Create Storage Space". In fact, the operation is very simple.

But here is a special note:

Simple (no recovery): Simply write a data copy to the storage space, which cannot provide data protection in the event of a disk failure. (At least 1 free disk is required)

Two-way mirroring: Two-way mirroring storage space writes two data copies to provide data redundancy protection when one disk is damaged. (At least 2 free disks are required)

Three-way mirroring: Three-way mirroring storage space writes three copies of data, which can provide data redundancy protection when two disks fail at the same time. (At least 3 free disks are required)

Parity: The parity storage space will write parity information at the same time as data is written, which can protect data when a disk fails. (At least 3 free disks are required)

Note that although the function of using storage space means that the data is protected, it is not an unlimited perfect protection mechanism, and it also reduces the actual disk utilization. By the way, tell my friends that the biggest advantage of Win10's storage space is flexibility. Hard drives of different capacities can also be put together to form a storage pool, which is very convenient.

For example, if there are 3 hard disks in the storage space (1, 2, 3 represent), if there are 700GB of data to be saved, in order to ensure the maximum available capacity of two-way mirroring, Win10 will divide the 700GB data into 3 copies (A, B, C), A is stored in hard disks 1 and 2, B will be stored in hard disks 2 and 3, and C will be stored in hard disks 1 and 3. In theory, no matter which hard disk is broken, the data will not be throw. Of course, there are costs. For example, these three hard drives have a capacity of 1TB. After forming a two-way mirrored storage space, the maximum usable capacity is only about 1.5TB instead of 3TB. If you use 4 hard disks, then the choice of two-way mirroring is different. Win10 will design them as a group of 2 hard disks, and the data will not be crossed, so the number of hard disks with capacity is 1 per group, that is to say, the maximum You can only damage one hard drive, not two.
