Today, Microsoft announced that HoloLens has another partner, thyssenkrupp, an engineering company known for its elevators. The cooperation between the two proves the great value of using AR in the workplace.
This video shows thyssenkrupp's use of Hololens's work flow to help workers operate without barriers in highly mobile home stairs and allow them to "move in their own environment" without affecting the passing people.
Installing elevators is challenging, because the stairs in each home are unique, and no one size fits all. The installation of elevators on each floor must be individually customizable, so measuring, manufacturing and installation require a considerable amount of time. Using HoloLens can make these steps more efficient.

This data can be uploaded to the Microsoft cloud in real time, so the factory can immediately start production of elevators. Simon Feismann, director of product lifecycle management at thyssenkrupp, commented that incorporating HoloLens into manufacturing may make the process four times faster than before.
